Project description

We are hosting a Penalty Kick (PK) challenge at the Covington YMCA. All ages will be invited to participate and admission will be $10 a person. We will break participants up into the following age groups: 5 and under, 6-8, 9-12, 13 and up. Each participant will get 5 kicks (with the possibility of additional rounds if time permits). To make the contest fair, we will use volunteer goalies that are matched with their own age group. We plan to have prizes for the winners of each age group and snacks/drinks for sale!

My project supports: National CMV Foundation

We chose National CMV Foundation because we want to spread awareness about CMV (Cytomegalovirus) so people know how serious it is. Early pregnancy detection and treatment could really make a difference in creating effective antiviral treatments and reducing the risk of congenital infection and/or disease in newborns. However, more research and larger trials are needed, and for those to happen, more light needs to be shed on this virus.
We are hosting this event in honor of Koltin's twin sister and Vivian's friend, Kennedi, who was a fighter born with CMV. She changed a lot of lives by laughing and smiling with everyone around her.
