Jared's Story

Jared’s story began when he was only six years old. He suffered a traumatic injury to his arm that resulted in him undergoing seven surgeries over the next several years to help correct the damage. Thanks to the amazing care from the doctors and staff of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), his arm was saved, he regained his health and he was able to get back to being a regular kid again.

Because CHOA had helped him, Jared wanted to do something to help the hospital and other kids who also required significant medical attention. At just 13 years old, he decided to accomplish this goal by combining his desire to give back with his passion for rock wall climbing, a hobby he would not have been able to engage in were it not for the care he received at CHOA. He asked friends and family to pledge a donation for each wall he climbed, and then proceeded to tackle a total of 100 rock walls, raising $2500! Jared is not only the inspiration behind Kids Boost, he is an inspiration to all who seek to overcome odds and reach their goals and is a perfect example of a child using his gifts and talents to give back to the community.
